This educational webinar will provide a general overview of Dry Hydrogen Peroxide (DHP®) technology: what it is, how it operates, and how it achieves continuous microbial reduction in occupied settings. The DHP technology’s automation, continuous operation, and ability to be deployed in occupied settings address issues ranging from staff shortages to efficient workflows and patient throughput will be discussed. Jennifer Sanguinet, System Director of Infection Prevention at Asante Healthcare, will recount her experience deploying DHP in a large, urban, tertiary care facility in Nevada, beginning with technology installation and continuing through deployment and efficacy evaluation. She will share her peer-reviewed published research demonstrating air and surface bioburden reductions in five different hospital units associated with the use of DHP. She will additionally share her research demonstrating significant bioburden reductions on her facility’s privacy curtains with the deployment of DHP. Finally, she will share her recent research demonstrating DHP’s impact on reducing surface C. auris contamination in adult burn and children’s cardiac intensive care units housing colonized/infected patients.
